Our Story
Our story begins in 1999 when brothers Joel and Duncan Gott took over a humble roadside stand dating back to 1949, located along Highway 29 in the heart of Napa Valley and reimagined it with a fresh approach to classic American roadside food.
The goal was simple: to serve delicious, high-quality fare that you might find at a fine restaurant but in a casual setting with welcoming hospitality. We're committed to using the best ingredients, sourcing locally whenever possible, and crafting each dish to order. Our menu celebrates tried-and true classics with a modern twist—burgers made with 100% angus, vegetarian-fed beef, organic milkshakes, fish tacos, crispy brussels sprouts, and even a wine list that celebrates the best of California.
The response was immediate. Locals, wine country visitors, and food lovers embraced what we were doing, and soon, Gott’s became a go-to destination for more than just great burgers. As demand grew, so did we. Gott’s gradually expanded by invitation, first opening in San Francisco’s Ferry Building, then next to Napa’s Oxbow Public Market, contributing to both becoming centerpieces of artisanal food culture.
Three suburban locations followed, along with a licensed location at San Francisco International Airport (SFO). More recently, Gott’s opened a spot at the Chase Center, home of the Golden State Warriors with plans to expand into Southern California with two new locations: one at the iconic Original Farmers Market in 2025 and another on Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica in 2026.
Even as we grow, our commitment to quality and hospitality has never wavered. We’re proud to be a place where families, travelers, and food lovers can come together to share a great meal, whether it’s their first visit or their hundredth. At Gott’s, we’re not just serving food—we’re helping create happy memories that keep people coming back, one delicious bite at a time.
